Welcome to the Hampton Inn

A tale of survival, stunning views and superb food

Many a pub can claim to be the ‘heart of the village’, but The Hampton Inn near Herne Bay is the village. It’s the only remaining building in Hampton-on-Sea - a coastal Kent community that was engulfed by the sea and abandoned at the turn of the 20th century.

Solitude and sea views

For solitude and sea views, not many pubs in the UK can beat this place. With no neighbouring properties, there are uninterrupted views over the ocean on three sides of the pub, and a near-360 degree vantage point from which to savour spectacular sunsets.

It’s not just the unique views that bring people to The Hampton Inn though. A warm, bright and welcoming pub, thanks to a recent refurbishment.

Food & drink

This place also enjoys a great reputation for food and drink - with locally caught seafood something of a speciality, and local ales from Shepherd Neame available on tap.

There’s a large garden, and a number of benches strategically placed at the front of the pub - because there’s not much better than sitting with a perfect pint, and watching the world go by.
